ohhHH Deer Nara Park!

Nara Park is a large park in central Nara home to hundreds of freely roaming deer. According to Japan Guide website this park is #1 tourist attraction in Nara. Another Nara's main attractions include Todaiji, Kasuga Taisha, Kofukuji and Nara National Museum.

I first became aware of this park at the instagram feed of Erich Gonzales, back when she & Daniel Matsunaga were together having vacation. If I have to choose between park & mall, I'll choose park  definitely specially if it's somewhere outside the country. Japanese value animals and nature so much, so much that I envied their upbringing and their ancestors. These deer are proof, they live freely among people & cars in the streets.

Our accomodation is at Naniwa so the nearest
station going to Nara is SHIN-IMAMIYA

This is Day 1 of our adventure so kinda worried
because we're doing it on our own. Extra money
is needed in case we got lost.

There are small group of street vendors near
the exit of JR Nara Station. These vegetable
stand catch my attention because of these two
conversing in japanese, being our first day I'm
amazed. Then these very fresh carrots
and carrot juice.

Shops after shops along the street going to the park
Nara Park is a five minute walk from
Kintetsu Nara Station or about a 20 minute walk
from JR Nara Station. Alternatively, the park can
be reached by bus. There are multiple stops
around the park.

We drop by at pagodas and temples.
How can you not be fit and healthy
when walking in these places is free.
I will always choose to  explore
this by foot. You can not find
similar places like these back home.

First deer encounter !!!
She is feeding him with biscuits.
 Biscuits specially for deer cost
150 yen, sold anywhere at the park.

Camote costs 200 yen per 100 grams!
That was 100 pesos per 100 grams...wait what?
My first thought is one piece of camote is
200 yen. Found out their camote is so big,
one piece costed us 800 yen or 400 pesos

Camote is not only huge but also very sweet.
I'm glad we are mistaken by the sign,
now we know it's worth the price and also
taste better that our own camote.

Nara Park
This is the street going straight to Todaiji
besides this is the Nara Park. Full packed of
visitors and travelers in this autumn season.

Todaiji Temple
Todaiji Temple is a complex of buildings that
includes the world's largest wooden structure

Pretty tame deer, he patiently waiting his food.
Be on look because there are poop scattered.

I'm luring these two, pretending I have
a biscuit they followed me. They are
waiting to open my hand. I came here to
feed them and have this photo literally!!!

Stream, Grass &
Different Color of Trees

As I imagined them to be like this!

In full bloom, the leaves look like a plastic
doesn't seems real. This is a perfect place
 to enjoy autumn colors.

Tourist surrounded the varieties of maple tree
to get perfect shot of the leaves that turn gradually
from beautiful green to yellow then shiny red.

Nara never fail to fulfill my expectation.
Since I saw one of these kind in dramas and
movies I am looking forward to see one
 up close actually.

What a lovely day, a lovely lovely deer!
Nara never dissapoints. There are many
shrines and temples around the park but
we're not interested in history or Buddhas
so we don't explore them. It was already past
noon and the rain start to pour so
 we hurriedly went home.

Ideal place for a perfect day trip.
It's time to end the day and head
back to the train  station.

woooOOT woooOOOTTT
That's all for today.
